Using the angle-cut end of the tape, start the wrap at the locking end of the grip tube. Begin with the tape on the top side of the grip tube and wrap it away from you in a spiral toward the bar end of the grip. Make sure the tape initially wraps over itself to securely hold the starting end of the tape down. Start the wrap at the main part of the grip tube. Do not wrap the locking ring tabs.
Complete the wrap at the bar end of the grip by leaving 5-10mm of excess bar tape hanging off the end of the grip. Insert the excess tape into the grip tube and secure the end plug over the excess tape.
While holding the wrapped tape in place by hand, position the bar end fixing nut at the end of your handlebar and then slide the grip tube over the bar end fixing nut and handlebar. Use the grip tube and handlebar to hold the bar end fixing nut in place at the end of the handlebar inside the grip tube.
Use the bar end plug and bolt to clamp the excess tape into the grip tube by threading it down on the bar end fixing nut and cover it with plug cap firmly.
Slide the locking ring over grip from the locking end and ensure the tape is well covered by the locking ring. Reinstall the grip on the handlebar and clamp the locking ring to a minimum of 3Nm torque.
