The aerodynamic eclipse spherical is our most sophisticated, stylish, and lightweight aero road helmet, and it's crafted with spherical technology powered by mips®, so you can ride with more comfort and an additional layer of protection.
Not only is eclipse spherical a big step up from the speed of our previously fastest aero road helmet, the vanquish, it is the fastest road helmet we have ever tested. Eclipse beats the closest aero road helmet competitor by 14 seconds over 100 miles at 25mph, and is a full minute faster than our own vanquish. (wind averaged drag, combination of 80% typical riding position and 20% head down riding position.)
We tested with our proprietary Therminator head form to measure helmet cooling efficiency and the results prove that Eclipse is almost as cool as our best-in-class road helmet, Aether Spherical, setting a new standard for aero road helmets. (Cooling measured from 100º starting temperature at with 25 mph wind speed).
The Eclipse Spherical is both the fastest road helmet and the coolest aero road helmet Giro has ever created, bringing our best technologies together in a light, compact form that's ideal for road and gravel racing. The sleek outer shell actively streamlines airflow to reduce drag across multiple wind angles, while 14 Wind Tunnel vents pull air through the helmet to provide incredible cooling power that rivals our most aggressively vented road helmets. Inside, the ball-and-socket design of Spherical Technology is powered by the Mips® brain protection system, which allows the helmet's outer EPS foam liner to rotate around the inner foam liner during a crash to help redirect impact forces away from the brain. Progressive Layering of both the inner and outer liners help to offer more comprehensive protection, too. The patented Roc Loc® 5 Air system enhances stability and fit, and plush antimicrobial Ionic+ padding helps absorb sweat and moisture while providing durable antimicrobial performance.

Note: We recommend you try helmets on before buying. Make sure the helmet fits with a little room when the fit system is loose, and sits low enough to protect your forehead without hindering your vision. Once you’ve got the right size, you can adjust the fit.
Step 1: If the helmet has one, adjust the fit system at the rear of the helmet for a snug, secure fit. Some fit systems also include a vertical tuning feature that allows you to adjust the fore/aft tilt, for optimal positioning on your head.
Step 2: Adjust the straps so that they sit just below the earlobes.
Step 3: Adjust the buckle so that it rests against the back of the jaw/throat.
Step 4: Adjust the interior pads if needed.
Step 5: Check the fit to make sure helmet is comfortable and secure. It should not roll forward or back, or be able to slide off.
